Making bowls

There always seems to be a screen or two that you are looking at. The more screen time I have, the more I want to play more with something more tactile. Ink, paper, paint, wood, concrete. Things that you can't undo, things that make you move forward quickly, or deal with something that gets a little fucked up.

After spending time makeing the curbs this summer, I am taking it indoors and making bowls. Just anohter canvas to explore. I visited the local Savers and picked up a few mixing bowls that nested pretty well together and tried started making bowls. After a few confusing mishaps and a dozen youtube videos they started coming out pretty nice. Here are a few things I learned:

1. Quickcrete 5000 is working the best.
2. Using cooking spray to coat the bowl as a release agent.
3. Drilled a hole in the bottome of each bowl, that I can blow air into to release the bowl once it gas cured.

Let's see where this goes.
