After many years of playing chess, and many years of wanting to make my own chess set I was introduced to the set made by Josef Hartwig. It is like no other set I have seen before. No pieces look like castles or horses or religious clergy, but rather the pieces speak to how they move.
I was inspired to make my own but in a more redux version. Painted wood blocks.
